After preparing the base at our facility, we commission the finishing work.
Through repeated coating and polishing, we achieve a lustrous sheen and unique texture.

Hagi (bush clover)

Hagi is the official flower of Miyagi-prefecture and Sendai-city. It is a famous autumn flower that is frequently reflected in Japanese poetry and classics, giving the metronome a very relaxing and calming feeling.

Sakura (cherry blossoms)

Sakura is the national flower of Japan. Japanese have had an affection for cherry blossoms since ancient time. Cherry blossoms have many colors such as light pink and there are many different types, but are all very beautiful and different in many ways. Our Nikko office looks out on the Meguro-river that is one of the most popular HANAMI (cherry blossom-viewing) spot in Japan.

Sound

The pleasant resonance unique to wood. A gentle sound with depth and no harsh edges.
Recommended for long practice sessions without causing listening fatigue.

Compared to plastic, it is robust and offers superior operability and durability.

Winding key

A shape that makes winding the power spring easy.
Since repeated barrel polishing rounds the edges, it feels good to the touch.

Even when the pendulum is in motion, the winding key does not rotate or move. You won't be distracted by the winding key's movement, allowing you to focus entirely on the pendulum's motion.

Usability

Located on one side, you can wind the power spring and set the tempo without switching hands, while holding the metronome body steady with one hand.

Anti-loss protrusion for sliding weight

Add a protrusion to the back of the pendulum's tip to prevent the sliding weight from being pulled out.

Key Retention Ring for preventing winding key Loss

Attach a retaining ring to prevent the winding key from being removed. (It is located internally and is not normally visible.)

5-turn power spring

The movement utilizes only the portion of the power spring where torque remains constant, ensuring stable operation.

Bottom cover | Rubber feet

Wooden

The bottom cover is also made of wood.
The rubber feet are attached at three points to prevent wobbling when the metronome is placed on it.
The rubber feet also serve as slip-resistant pads.

Inner box

We custom-made a high-quality gift box for a gift and souvenir.
It consists of a simple plain white box for coming the metronome, plus an outer box, made out of Washi (Japanese paper), to hold that box, making it a double box.

Assembly

The body is crafted in our in-house workshop by cutting parts from boards and assembling them using mortise and tenon joints. Rather than simple gluing, we machine protrusions and grooves into the edges of the parts and fit them together, creating a much stronger bond.

Custom-made basswood plywood

We use custom-made plywood composed of multiple compressed boards, offering exceptional resistance to temperature and humidity fluctuations.
Featuring a "all-core plywood" construction where all core layers are made of basswood, not rowan wood.
This material is also used in high-end furniture and shelving, characterized by its beautiful clean edges.
We specially order a seamless "single-sheet" for the face.
